Benfica will not let Chelsea Lucky Again

Despite losing 0-1 while aggregate numbers, Benfica will not give up the second leg Champions League quarter-final against Chelsea on Wednesday (04/04/2012). Benfica coach Jorge Jesus, saying they would fight up in this fight is no longer so lucky as Chelsea in the first leg.

"Chelsea, of course favored, but we will make efforts in this game as good as we have done in the first game. Chelsea was a bit lucky in the first game, if you see that we are dominating the game," he said as quoted by AFP.

Jesus admitted that the army was Roberto Di Matteo was lucky in the first leg after the Chelsea striker, Salomon Kalou, managed to make a surprise goal in the 75th minute. Because, since the first half, Fernando Torres and his friends seem difficult to create chances, despite diligent attack. Benfica's defense raised Jardel and his friends appear quite disciplined in a groove cut Chelsea attack.

Not wanting to repeat inadvertence, Jesus told his players have the quality that is not less good as Roberto Di Matteo's troops.

"We certainly have the quality to win this fight, and I am sure that the running time we can change the position of Chelsea and do what they did in Lisbon. They (Chelsea) left bertandang to a 0-0 draw and ended with the victory, "he added.

Chelsea was in a solid game schedule. If a team nicknamed "The Blues" was successfully advanced to the semifinals, they will play for 11 games in 40 days.

Di Matteo had visited the English Football Association (FA) to advance the FA Cup semi-final match against city rivals Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley, 15 April, so that they could have more time to prepare for the Champions League semi-final.

However, the FA rate may not change the schedule of the FA Cup kick-off so Di Matteo could only breast stroke while taking the positive side.

"I think a lot of clubs that would love to have a lot of (schedule) games to be involved in these competitions. It's very hard for the players, but we are in good shape now. All players can be played and it will help us," he said.

"Fortunately, we have a fit squad, which will help us to move forward, allowing each player to play at our disposal and provide the opportunity for everyone," he said later.
